“Although I started playing pool a long time back, I only became professional in 2010, after the founder of Exchange Club, Sipho Nkala, discovered my talent and introduced me to his team,” said Musanho, 34.

Since then she has represented Bulawayo province at a number of national tournaments. The club plays in the Bulawayo Pool Association league.

“In 2010, I was a member of the provincial championships team that competed in Gweru, after I had beaten a number of women here. I have also represented the province in the Black Label National Pool tournament in Harare,” said Musonho.

In May 2011, she wrote her own piece of history when she shrugged-off the challenge of 160 male players to come fourth in the two-day Parkadinner Open Singles pool tournament.

She was the last woman standing in that tournament, after a number of other women players fell by the wayside. For her efforts, she claimed the top prize in the women’s category, which had 14 contestants.

The mother of one said her future plans were to set up a pool coaching academy for school children and women. “I think I have done a lot for the game and it’s high time we made the sport professional and began coaching school children at a very tender age,” said Musonho.

“My vision is to set up a pool academy in this city, where I would enrol school children and teach them about the game,” she added.
