With the result, Zimbabwe maintained a positive record against their neighbours in recent years, but Muzongodi said the bigger picture was qualifying for the World Cup in Canada in two years’ time.
“The match against South Africa’s Banyana Banyana was not an easy one and the draw was a credible result for us,” he said in an interview after the match.
“The match was a welcome exercise and served as good preparation for upcoming tournaments that will lead us to World Cup qualification and help us raise our world rankings.”
The Mighty Warriors are currently ranked 12th in the continent and 88th in the Fifa/Coca Cola World rankings as of March 2012, after moving four places up the standings.
