“Dikwena” are looking to replace former coach, Cavin Johnson, who recently ditched them to join Pretoria side, SuperSport United and apparently, one of the coaches they have targetted is Madinda, the eldest of the famous Zimbabwean footballing Ndlovu brothers.
The former Highlanders and Dream Team tear-away striker is currently coach of Botswana’s Mochudi Centre Chiefs, with whom he recently achieved a back-to-back championship streak.
Stars refused to comment on the matter this week, saying they were still short-listing candidates for the job, although internal sources confirmed that the former Zimbabwe national team right winger was one of the possible replacement for Johnson, who led the Rustenburg-based side to a second place finish last season, in a championship race eventually won by Kaizer Chiefs.
Stars also reached the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup, which was again won by Chiefs on the last day of the season.
Famed for his ability to identify and develop talent, Ndlovu has previously had coaching stints with Highlanders, Amazulu and a number of Botswana sides and has previously won the championship with Notwane.
