Despite his problems, Nyongani said he would take advantage of this period to improve up his educational background. “My major aim now is to focus on studying towards short sports courses so that I can prepare for life after the track.”
Meanwhile, Nyongani is already looking beyond this year as he has set his eyes on Brazil Olympics.
“I have designed a long-term programme for 2016 and that is my biggest goal at the moment. I missed the London Olympics due to injuries and would now want to go to the Brazil 2016 showcase, which I think would be my last professional competition,” he said.
Nyongani has previously won some tightly-contested races like the Dakar Grand Prix six times in a row.
