The Day of Crumble

It is the day that has and will keep my party permanently divided and injured.
This is the day Arthur Mutambara, in the absence of the Prime Minister of Zimbabwe Morgan Tsvangirai, held the Monday meeting of Principals to the Global Political Agreement and asked President Robert Mugabe to strike the Prime Minister in his absence by pronouncing the election dates.

Mutambara, who has joined the Emmerson Mnangagwa faction in my party, asked the President for the Minister of Justice Patrick Chinamasa’s attendance. Chinamasa had to obtain the full indulgence of Mnangagwa as he is a leading pillar in the faction.

Manipulation roadmap

The roadmap for manipulating the Constitutional Court judgment was put in place after Chinamasa worked 24 hours to fast track the Amendments to the Electoral Act in order to align it with the new Constitution, which would be adopted during the June 11 cabinet meeting. No one knew about the shenanigans plotted by Mutambara and President Mugabe. They wanted the President to invoke
his Presidential Powers to circumvent Parliament and made proclamations of the dates of elections without the PM’s input.

Vice President Joyce Mujuru knew about the election date proclamation after it was made. Mnangagwa had the privilege of being in the know and even played a supporting role through Chinamasa. Amai Mujuru was even isolated when the President went to the SADC Summit in Maputo with Mnangagwa.

Having noticed that Mnangagwa had upped his game, Mujuru became so angry she held a meeting with the United States Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Bruce Wharton, on June 14. On June 15, she called a meeting early in the morning to brief leaders in her faction at her Chisipite home about what
was happening behind her back. They resolved that they would de-campaign and make sure that Mugabe loses the coming elections.
Simbaneuta Mudarikwa even called for “Operation Bhora Musango” which
has more intensity than the 2008 harmonised election. My party is torn apart and June 10 was the Day of the Crumble.

Expose

In 2008 Buhera was one of the worst places to be. The chief architect behind the terror was Colonel Mzilikazi, retired army personnel Ruramai Dzengerere, and Local Zanu (PF) leaders with the help of headman Amos Gavaza Betera. They set up torture camps at Baravara and Sungura business centres in Buhera Central under Chief Nyashanu’s area. People were tortured; Betera Secondary school teachers were beaten and forced to flee; they brutally murdered Emmanuel Nyapfungwe of Makanyisa village and hid his body.

It happened at Baravara community hall. The ward 18 MDC chairperson (Kashaya) was tortured and left for dead. He, however, survived but is paralysed and can’t work for his family.

They were doing this with the help of local Zanu (PF) youth who looted homes as people fled for their lives. Many other MDC sympathisers lost their cattle and goats at the hands of these evil people.
