The Kaizer Chiefs defender, who recently won a league medal despite missing the better part of the 2012/13 season, has made an earlier-than-anticipated recovery from the knee setback.
“I am focusing on my rehabilitation now and have been working hard with the club’s medical team,” said Jambo. “I will be back earlier from the holidays, compared to the rest of the team. Hopefully, I will soon be able to don the gold and black kit again.
I would like to thank everyone at the club and the supporters for their support throughout the injury. My family has also been there for me and I believe I will be back stronger and better.”
The 25-year-old said he had put his woes behind him and focused on the coming season, which kicks-off in July, with the Carling Black Label Cup that pots his club against city rivals, Orlando Pirates.
“Injuries are part of football and I have put that behind me. I am now focusing on the future,” said the Amakhosi fullback, who sustained the injury after a tackle by countryman and former teammate, Tinashe Nengomasha. He will compete with Bafana Bafana defender, Tsepo Masilela and Keegan Ritchie for the left-back position.
