Visual artists to perform at UNWTO

The National Arts Council of Zimbabwe, through their provincial offices, are calling on local visual artists to showcase their work at the prestigious United Nations World Tourism Organisation General Assembly set to be held in Victoria Falls and Livingstone.

The national office is inviting visual artists to submit their work for consideration by completing the entry forms. The deadline for submissions is July 1. Only 10 per cent of the art works from each province will be considered nationally. The provincial selection will scout for quality pieces that reflect the true representation of Zimbabwean art.

The Manicaland Provincial Arts Manager, Jonathan Muchayi, confirmed the development. The conference, which runs from August 24 to 28, gives local artists much needed international exposure. This comes at a time when local artists are facing challenges to compete internationally.
