City, who have been dubbed the “giant-killers” since their first appearance in the PSL last season, are currently at the top of the log, three points ahead of former champions, Highlanders, and five ahead of defending champions, Dynamos.
“We are where we are on the log because of sheer hard work and the unity of purpose that exists in this team,” said Chivasa early this week. “We deserve to be there because we have put in all the effort and this has been the reward of what we have done so far in the season. We did not do badly in our debut season either. We will stay on top of that log and we will fight to remain in that position till the last game of the season.”
He admitted that there remained a lot of work to be done.
“We are lacking here and there, but we are correcting that and people must expect a fire bomb from us. We are very aware that a lot of clubs are also eying that top spot, but we won’t bow out anytime soon.”
