Biti told journalists at a Press Conference this afternoon that he had intelligence information about the reporting instructions.
When about the motive behind the order, Biti said: “I have no further details since we were informed by whistleblowers.”
Observers suspect the former soldiers could be used as Zanu (PF) and Mugabe’s last line of defence if they should lose the elections.
Meanwhile, some retired soldiers interviewed by The Zimbabwean said they had not received such an order.
“Maybe we will hear about that tomorrow, since as for now there is nothing like former soldiers reporting to KG6 tomorrow,” said a retired soldier who did not want to be identified.
