The case was heard before Judge President, Justice George Chiweshe.
In its court application, the MDC-T alleged that the number of officers for the special voting system had been inflated.
The MDC-T application cited the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission, Co-ministers of Home Affairs, Theresa Makone and Kembo Mohadi, police Commissioner General, Augustine Chihuri, Finance Minister, Tendai Biti as first, second, third and fourth respondents, respectively.
The MDC-T argued that the 69, 000 police officers taking part in the special voting system were way above the 44 133 officers shown on Treasury’s payroll.
Tsvangirai’s lawyer, Harrison Nkomo, from the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights confirmed the deferment of the matter to The Zimbabwean.
“The matter has been deferred to Wednesday and will be heard in chambers at 2 o’clock,” said Nkomo.
However, the special voting system kicked off yesterday and is expected to end today.
The process has been marred by serious logistical problems.
