Provision of emergency medical treatment for human rights defender

The Zimbabwe Association of Doctors for Human Rights salutes your invaluable role in the advancement of human rights in Zimbabwe. Recognising the comple-mentarity of our relationship with you, we do hereby notify you of the existence of the above mentioned facility.

The facility is aimed at providing rapid reaction, and emergency medical treatment to human rights defenders and victims of organized violence and torture in Zimba-bwe, particularly in this election period and after the elections. ZADHR has since established a network of doctors on standby. The facility will ensure documentation of medical evidence of human rights violations primarily where violence and tor¬ture are involved to feed into our advocacy activities. This will help curb impunity.

Our Doctors are on Standby 24 Hours a Day.

Torture and politically motivated violence are criminal offences in Zimbabwe and are inimical to the attainment of the right to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health.

Please help us raise awareness amongst human rights defenders (HRD’s), and in communities on the existence of this facility. We also humbly plead with you as a partner to disseminate this information to your members and the generality of citi-zens of Zimbabwe as well.
