PSL Round-up

The league’s bottom quartet seems to be finding it harder and harder to survive relegation, as the Castle Premiership heads for a home straight.

In their last five matches, log anchors Motor Action have only succeeded in bringing home one point out of a possible 15, including their recent 2-1 mauling by Monomotapa.

The league could take a rest for the ongoing COSAFA Castle Cup that the national team joins at the quarterfinal stage in Zambia at the weekend. However, the not so “Mighty Bulls” will travel off next to Zvishavane for a date with an equally wounded FC Platinum.

Platinum are still smarting from a surprise 0-2 defeat by army side Black Rhinos. The Kugona Kunenge Kudada outfit’s new coach, Lloyd “Samaita” Mutasa, will leave no space for another defeat in that game.

Beitbridge-based debutants Tripple B, who suffered the biggest defeat of the league so far this season with a 1-5 loss to Buffaloes over the weekend, will face a rejuvenated Black Rhinos in their next feature.

Tripple B have a paltry 14 points to show for their 16 games of sweat and tears. Despite the fact that the match will be played at the Chinja Magiya’s hunting ground, Dulibadzimu Stadium, Chauya Chipembere will still be the favorites.

Another relegation-threatened side, Hwange FC, welcome on-fire Caps United, who are yet to taste victory. The Harare giants, who took four points off former log leaders, Highlanders in their last two league matches, are just four points away from log leaders Harare City, who have 31.

Champions Dynamos date Buffaloes in the capital, while Bosso face-off with city rivals, Chicken Inn, in a top-of the log clash that Bosso need to win to bring their title chase back on track.
