Queue jumpers cause chaos in Guruve

Chaos reigned supreme at the Guruve District registry polling centre in Mashonaland Central, with voters accusing ZEC of moving too slowly and favouring Zanu (PF) supporters.

Supporters of the Zanu (PF) candidate, one Brig Kanhanga, could be seen going straight into the polling station to vote without joining the queues.

There were lines for the elderly, women and men but that did not make the queues move.

The Presiding Officer, David Mukote, refused to release figures of people who had voted by noon, saying he was waiting for higher authority to instruct him to do so.
