According to an aviation website forum, Tasker and another passenger Lindy Brooks were reportedly flying a Bataor Fala- based Bandeirante light freighter ZS –NVB 110 plane when the accident happened .
A person who was quoted by the website as Tasker’s son said:
“They were approaching Francistown for a technical stop for fuel. From what I have been told they overshot their approach due to fog on the runway and were cleared for an approach from the other side” Civil Aviation authorities could not be reached for comment.
If this individual was so experienced then why was he not able to avoid the crash if he was so experienced. Maybe it is like everything else in Zimbabwe, where even simple, average and if not rudimentary individuals, are given credit which they could never be able to live up to. Even, assuming that Zimbabwe has been robbed, is an over-statement, we should not propel individuals beyong their capabilities.
Stanley Mauro do you know Rob Tasker and his history? Are you a pilot yourself? As you sound very self-opinionated.
Stanley,
Both were VERY experienced pilots and they were based on Lanseria, South Africa.
Sad you stating what you did without ANY clue of who they were and what they have achieved.
Dear Mr. Stanley ,
I can also not understand your comment , we happen to hangar our plane ZS – ORU next to them at Lanseria , and Rob gave my wife Michele initial training in Bulawayo , subsequently we finished our licenses with Robbie Robinson SA. These two were dedicated pilots and it is with great sadness and respect that we have to bid farewell to them . Be a littlebit more sensitive man , thank you
I only sai this today and we are already in 2022. I am wondering if this is the same Lindy Brooks who lived in Zimbabwse.Bulawayo. She was a wonderful person, what a tragic accident
