Voting begins in Harare South

All roads here lead to polling stations as people started to queue as early as 2am.

Two polling stations at Hard Area in Hopley have queues stretching to 200 meters.

A police officer who spoke on condition of anonymity said:

“We did not sleep. People started to form lines at 2am in the morning and voting started at 7am,” said the officer.

The polling stations are separated on gender basis.

“The polling agents agreed that men would use one station while women use the other.

“Pregnant women, elderly and those with genuine excuses are given preference to vote and they are not queuing,” said a Zanu (PF) agent who also declined to be named.
