Chihombori said it was disappointing that people were buying pirated copies of the film.
“When people comment on the film, I can never be sure that they haven’t watched the pirated version. There is no joy in commenting on a pirated product,” said the filmmaker.
Chihombori said consumers should encourage the sustainability of the arts by purchasing original copies. He said the country had lost several talented artists who were forced to earn a living elsewhere in order to survive.
The artists rightly complain about copyright infringement and pirated films. No doubt, recording artists have the same complaint regarding the distribution of their own material. BUT, how many of those who complain have no qualms in using pirated computer software. Selective honesty is no honesty at all.
