Coltart confirmed the development on his Facebook page.

“I confirm that it appears I have lost to Bulawayo East constituency to MDC–T’s Thabitha Khumalo by 19 votes although the final official results have not been announced. Whilst I obviously congratulate her and wish her well and stress that my comments are not directed against her, the entire election was fraught with serious irregularities,” he posted.

Coltart said prior to the elections on Tuesday he had handed a letter to the head of SADC team in Bulawayo detailing six serious breaches of the electoral law and the constitution. “In my view the entire election is illegal .For examble I have not still received a copy of the electronic voters roll which I was entitled to and which was a key mechanism to counter rigging” he said. The MDC Ncube is reported to have lost all the seats including those which were in the party’s hands.
