Petronella, known as Petty Cash in music circles, told us “Kwaito music is my life, it runs in my veins, I grew up listening and dancing to it and it made me love companions and made life entertaining. The only music I play is Kwaito and seeing it losing its touch these days made me to take to the stage”.

The Joburg-based singer said she was inspired by well-known Kwaito star Oskar Mdlongwa, popularly known as Oskido. “After listening to his songs, suddenly my love of Kwaito music went to another level, but I can’t single out one song or album from Oskido. I love all of them. My dream is to see myself on the same level as him,” she said.

She recorded her debut album Top Class (Siyabagidisa) in June, with the help of Promise Sibanda known as DJ Mapressa . Petty Cash is a club DJ at several clubs around Joburg, where she has been playing and mixing beats for over two years.
