“I went to the police to make a report that I had been evicted by the war veterans whom they know, but I was told by the police officers to comply with the orders,” he said.
War veterans, Joseph Mushango and Pinos Chiriseri, were accompanied by youth leader, Eucklad Mugede, when they visited Chikware last week.
“They accused me of bringing MDC-T votes in the area and they told me that I had to vacate my home. They started throwing out my belongings and threatened to burn my house down if I failed to vacate the place,” he said.
He is now living with his relatives in Nhedziwa village in Chimanimani.
“I am a traditional leader and I deserve respect but the police in Chimanimani have never assisted MDC-T supporters who are victimised by thugs. Things should not be like that,” he said.
He said over 500 people in Mutambu village were forced to say they could not write and were assisted to vote by designated Zanu (PF) officials.
Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Luxon Chananda, said: “I have not yet received that report”.
