MDC-T wins in Mkoba

MDC-T has made a sweeping victory in Mkoba constituency. The party bagged all the seven council seats while its parliamentary candidate, Amos Chibaya, won with a landslide victory. So did the MDC-T presidential candidate Morgan Tsvangirai in the same constituency.

Results made available to The Zimbabwean at the close of the vote count process indicate that Chibaya polled 10, 095 votes against his Zanu (PF) rival Dzingai Kufunga who managed 5, 494. PM Tsvangirai got 10, 628 against President Robert Mugabe’s 5, 747.

Polling agents from the MDC formation led by Welshman Ncube were not available to present their results but according to sources, they fared dismally.

The constituency’s ZEC officials said full results can only be given to the media at the Harare National Command Centre.

Chibaya, the winning candidate for Mkoba, said his victory is a good step towards real transformation in Zimbabwe.
