Former Dynamos star Mutuma is yet to score an official goal since he joined Celtic last season and leads a strike force that has fired blanks, resulting in his club recently inviting more strikers for trials. “I think Rodrick has struggled to adjust to the demands of the local game. He comes highly-rated following his achievements in Zimbabwe and that I believe has put him under pressure to deliver. As a striker, he will always remain under pressure to score. It is time he started delivering,” said Nechironga.
Zimbabwe’s joint Footballer of the Year for 1990 pledged to assist Mutuma, the former Zimbabwean Golden Boot winner rediscover his goal scoring touch.
“Rodrick is determined to recapture his form. He is doing some extra training on his own. We have invited him to come over for training with the Reserve side as well and I believe this will work to his advantage,” said Nechironga, who also manages Celtic’s reserve side.
