A contact privy to the results, which ZEC is however currently announcing in batches, indicated that Zanu (PF), which seems to be on a mysterious rebound, has claimed the majority votes in Mashonaland Central and West, Manicaland, Midlands, Masvingo and Matabeleland South.
The results shown to The Zimbabwean are as follows, based on constituency tallies.
Mash Central: 18/18 constituencies
Mash West: 21/23
Manicaland: 20/26
Midlands: 21/24
Masvingo: 26/26
Mat South: 10/13
The figures bring Zanu (PF)’s lead so far to 116, a dramatic improvement from the combined 99 that it got in 2008.
The official media says Zanu (PF) has claimed 10 seats in Mashonaland East, bring the latest tally to 126.
The biggest upset is in Manicaland, where, in the 2008 parliamentary poll, MDC-T got 20 out of the 26 constituencies.
The results have left Zimbabwe awed, as many are querying how Zanu (PF) has revived to that extent.
Political parties, observer missions and civil society have expressed concerns regarding biased voter registration, intimidation and the manipulation of voters.
