Nyadombo, who has had a wonderful stay in Durban, which saw him being crowned the club’s Player of the Season, has now developed a knack for scoring, his last such strike being when he condemned Ajax Cape Town to their first defeat of the Absa Premiership season, a 1-2 home loss at the Cape Town Stadium two weeks ago.

Nyadombo said that strike was a continuation of work that began seasons ago and now blossoming into a more successful career on the pitch. “I want more goals for myself and the team this season,” said the robust defender.

“My game style is now more offensive, despite me being a defender. Everything is about better organization, communication and technique and I am sailing through that and my first goal of the season just inspired me to want more. I will keep going forward I want to be in the top goal scorers’ chat for my club. I am hopeful of getting the support that I need.”

Having joined Usuthu a few seasons ago, the player, who is team-mates with fellow countrymen Tapuwa Kapini and Brett Amidu, believes his club will perform much better this season, despite their 1-0 loss to visiting Moroka Swallows at the weekend.

“We had a bad season last year, but we have put our house in order and we hope for better things ahead this season. We are a united front working towards a cause and we believe God will also guide us to glory.”
