Illegal foreign workers suspended in Nampula

Inspectors from the Labour Ministry on Tuesday raided three companies in the northern Mozambican province of Nampula. As a result of the raids, 23 Chinese citizens were caught working illegally.

According to the Ministry, “in addition to the workers’ suspension and repatriation – in conformity with the law – the offending companies have been fined”.

A dozen illegal workers were found at the company Sen Yu, which manufactures wood products.

Eight workers were caught at the company Synohedro, which is involved in civil construction in Nampula city.

The other company, Yidzhouno, also manufactures wooden products.

Earlier this month the Labour Ministry launched a campaign to dismantle a gang who have been issuing false documents to foreign workers in Mozambique.
