Mucheke Sewer upgrade underway

The National Social Security Authority has granted Masvingo a $2,1 million loan to upgrade its main sewer system and service a new suburb, Victoria Ranch, east of the city.

“We will pay (back) in the next five years,” said the town clerk, Adolf Gusha. “Once the trunk sewer has been finished we will be able to service additional housing developments especially the new suburb that is sprouting in the Victoria ranch.”

Most of the houses are ready for occupation. “As an association we were worried that council is going to drag their feet in connecting these houses to essential services,” said Godard Dunira, a beneficiary.

“We are so pleased that all the completed housing units will be connected before the end of the year.”
