Best of the Best- Isaac Nyabvure

The former defensive midfielder started his football career playing in the lower divisions with Ascot Bombers and later played for more than a decade in the PSL with Lancashire Steel. He played for more than a decade from 1990 to 2007.

My Best Food

Even today I still love to be served with pap and beef. During my playing days, it gave me energy and stamina.

My Best Stadium

I enjoyed every moment I played at Barbourfields Stadium. That pitch is playable and most fans enjoyed supporting from there. I rate it among the best in Africa.

My Best midfield Partner

I played with many players who all taught me something, but Steven Sande is without doubt the best I ever came across.

He had wonderful skill and we knew how to open spaces for each other and together we plotted the downfall of our opponents. Fans used to refer to us as “The terrible twins”.

My Best Zimbabwean Player

There is only one Zimbabwean football icon to me and that is former Dynamos and national team midfield maestro, Moses “Razorman” Chunga. His talent was extra-ordinary.

My Most Difficult Opponent

Former Highlanders midfield maestro, Richard Choruma was skilful and was clever whenever in possession of the ball.

My Best Coach

Former “Dream Team” and Highlanders utility player, Willard “Mashinkila” Khumalo always wanted the best results, no matter how difficult the game was and was a strict disciplinarian. He remains the best coach I ever worked with. He moulded me into a complete player.

My Best African Footballer

The Togolese and former Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayo is the best player Africa has ever produced.

He is skilful and knows where to position himself even if his team is under pressure. We need more Adebayos to bring the FIFA World Cup to Africa.
