Best Team played for
Highlanders Volleyball Club. Experienced coach, Rueben Ndebele used to run the side professionally. The side used to be the best defensively and was one of the best teams in the country.
Best Opponents
Bulawayo Raiders. They were the best back in the days and were composed of my former team-mates. Vulindlela Moyo, one of the best coaches ever to emerge from Zimbabwe, led them. They had a fierce attack led by the setter Lovemore Moyo, who combined well with his effective attackers.
Best Venue
The courts at the University of Zimbabwe. That used to be the noisiest venue because of the high turnout from students. It was always tense but inspiring to play in front of such supporters.
Best Match Played
It was a final between the University of Zimbabwe and City of Lusaka in Botswana in 2001. It was a match full of pressure to UZ, the youngest team of the tournament, which was mainly composed of students of an average age of 22 years. I was one of the senior players and we matched eventual champions, City of Lusaka in all aspects and received support from the Botswana supporters due to the flair we exhibited. Nonetheless, we lost 3-2.
Best Volleyball player
Afi Dlamini of the Correctional Sunrise Volleyball Club in Swaziland. She is a very calm, confident and intelligent player who plays a key role in the side. She is a quality leader.
Best local and international volleyball players
I rate Murray Ndlovu, a Zimbabwean playing as an international in Japan, as the best. The most famous volleyball player in the world is easy to pick – Gilberto Amaury de Godoy Filho, better known as ‘Giba’. He plays for Brazil’s men’s volleyball team and he is the best known player in their all-conquering side, which won virtually every major competition from 2001 to the Olympic Games in Beijing, China in 2008.
Best Volleyball side
The side that contested the 1995 All Africa Games that Zimbabwe hosted. We lost the tournament but it was a great experience for the team and the country.
Best Zimbabwean sportsperson
Peter “Nsukuzone” Ndlovu. He remains humble but has achieved a lot in and outside the country. He is an ambassador of sporting success!

I appreciate Thulani Maphosa mentioning that I was set for one of the best clubs to emerge from Bulawayo in volleyball, but my surname is Dube.
My best volleyball moments were at Highlanders. Yes indeed Lovemore was a good setter, calm and calculative. I am glad i had am opportunity to watch almost all my coaches play, Coach Moyo(at Raiders), Sido(@ Caaz), Thuts (Highlanders), Leadme(Mufakose 1, Marimba/Mfakose Hawks), Arron(Mufakose 1, Marimba/Mfakose Hawks), Gororo(Mufakose 1, Marimba/Mfakose Hawks),Lule(Rhinos) these were my immediate coaches with clubs that i had a stint with. But i will never forget coaches like Martin Dururu, Banny Manokora and Wyllex Chisvo who took me up at national team level, the demostration/drills, woah i respect you. All of you guys you rock. I am what i am now in volleyball because of all of these coaches. Having gone through all these coaches made me love this sport and i can comfortably play any position without a problem. I was tuned by the best coaches ever, i hope to pass on all this knowledge to the next generation.
I dont remember Tutsi playing for the national team heyyy
