He won 5 games ,drew one and lost one game to Siame Kela of South Africa who came second before drawing against Klaver Cornelius of South Africa in the last round.The other Zimbabwean players who took part are Brighton Mthunzi and Takaedza Chipanga.Brighton finished with 4,5 points while Takaedza finished with 3 points.
IM Makoto has been doing well since relocating to South Africa. He won the South Africa Open and has been dominating in most of the tourneys held in South Africa. His chess prowess has improved a lot since moving down South and he has kept his form even in the National team at the Olympiads.
