Having been at the club for five years, he reckoned this was their season to leave the National First Division. “This season is ours. I have been with this club for all these years and the best reward I can give to management for their faith in me would be promotion to the PSL,” said the former Young Warriors star.
“My contract with the team draws to an end next June, but before then, my biggest aim is to take the club to the PSL, then hopefully renew my contract. I’m really enjoying my football here.
“The results have not started coming yet, but we are playing the most entertaining football in the NFD. Everyone in the team believes it is just a matter of time before we start collecting the maximum points and rising up the log,” he said.
Spurs have so far lost 2-0 against Sivutsa Stars and 2-1 to Maluti FC 2-1, before they won 2-1 against Thanda Royal Zulu, where Mubaiwa scored his first goal of the season for the club that lay 12th on the 16-team log early this week.
