The Zim Open is the biggest hosted by the Zimbabwe Chess Federation and attracts players from as far as Zambia, South Africa and Botswana.
The Chumfwa brothers, International Master Gillian Bwalya, Chitumbo Mwali and Godwin Phiri, the defending Champion are all likely to come and fight over the chequered board for the richest tournament in Zimbabwe.
Meanwhile, the Harare Schools Chess Association will be hosting a selection tourney for the Under-13, Under- 15 and Under-17 age groups for players based in Harare, in preparation for the National Scholars chess Championships, to be hosted by Harare Province.
