Former Zimbabwe men’s volleyball team captain, Murraypole Ndlovu, said this week that the squad need to regroup and focus on future games, after they failed to progress to the Africa World Cup Championship.

Last month, Zimbabwe lost 3-1 to Botswana in the Zone V1 World Championships qualifiers in Botswana.

Zimbabwe had won the first set 25-21 before they lost 25-21, 25-14 and 25-19 in the last set against Botswana. Botswana and Zambia qualified for the next stage – the Africa World Championships Qualifiers, to be held in Egypt this month, as teams battle to go to the finals in Poland next year.

“I was not part of the team due to some failed logistics, but that doesn’t mean that we have to focus on what happened,” said Ndlovu.

“This is good time for us to re-group and make sure that we learn from our mistakes. I have heard some people complain here and there, but that is not necessary at all.”
