The former Chicken Inn speed-star and Castle PSL top scorer is about to resume training with Mpumalanga Black Aces, with whom he signed a contract four months ago. “I am looking forward to joining my team-mates at Black Aces very soon, hopefully next week,” said Ndoro, who will wear jersey number 37.

“I’m ready for the South African challenge, after what I believe was a big but testing season for me, with so many games played both locally and internationally. I would like to thank God for making it possible for me to win the Golden Boot award here in Zimbabwe. It is a big achievement in itself and I feel very honoured.”

The 25-year-old signed for Amaziyoni at the end of August, but the club did not receive his international transfer clearance in time for the September 2 deadline, sending him back to Zimbabwe so he could remain fit.

This proved a blessing in disguise for him as he got the chance to complete the job he had started back home – scooping the Golden Boot award with 18 goals, despite him having missed two months of the season.

Ndoro is also one of the Zimbabwe League’s 11 Soccer Stars of the Year, and is up for the top award, to be announced on December 13. At Amaziyoni, he joins fellow Zimbabwean internationals in defender Method Mwanjali and goalkeeper Energy Murambadoro.

The fact that Ndoro spent almost two months training with Aces and still did well when he returned home should be a graphic illustration of how clinical the Zimbabwean is in front of goal.

He was also part of the Warriors team that qualified for the 2014 African Nations Championships that will be hosted in South Africa next year.
