In order to improve the team and to set the ball rolling, Masomere has recruited Warriors’ fringe player Frankson Bushire and Tafadzwa Mombeshora, both from Shabanie Mine FC, where he was the coach last year.
“It is important to have more players from Mutare. My first wish is to improve on the team’s performance. We are all aware that the team escaped relegation on the last day of the season and we want to avoid that scenario,” he said. “At the moment I am still in the process of assembling a team. After that we can now be able to judge ourselves with the material at our disposal.”
Although he could not be drawn to divulge the identity of players he still wants to sign for Buffaloes, Masomere said there were areas within the team he intends to strengthen. “I cannot really mention names of players that we intend to sign, but I can tell you that I am definitely looking for a goalkeeper, right and left backs as well as a central defender. I am also looking for natural goal scorers. If we end up getting another midfielder, it would be a bonus. I think we need to replace a number of players who left the club as well as strengthen those areas that were found wanting last season,” he said.
He urged people in Mutare and Manicaland at large to come to Sakubva Stadium to support their beloved team.Post published in: Football
