Mangongo to represent Zim

St George’s College student, Martin Mangongo, will represent Zimbabwe at a rugby winter sport training session in South Korea, starting this weekend.

Mangongo is one of the 160 youngsters from 39 countries chosen to partake in the training session. Participants were selected from Asian, American, European, Oceania, Middle East and African countries.

Mangongo, who was born in Mutare, said he was excited about the development and hoped to improve his sporting talent.

“This is an opportunity to learn new things and hopefully, I will be able impart the knowledge to my team-mates at both school and club,” he said.

Mangongo also plays for the Mutare Sports Club rugby team that was promoted in the country’s Lion Lager national league this year. Last year he won the 2013 Under-20 Player of the Year.
