Mushekwi is welcome: Pirates

South African football giants, Orlando Pirates, revealed this week that they were interested in landing the signature of Zimbabwean starlet, Nyasha Mushekwi.

Currently on the books of cash-rich Mamelodi Sundowns, Mushekwi has done well in Belgium, where he is on loan at Jupiler League side, KV Oostende.

Following wide claims that the striker could join the Buccaneers on his return to the ABSA Premiership, Pirates spokesman, Mickey Modisane said: “That (Mushekwi move) remains a high possibility. Remember that at one point he made it clear that he would like to play for Pirates when his loan comes to an end, so one cannot rule out this eventuality. He is a very exciting player, but I am not directly involved with player recruitments, so I cannot give out more information.”

Mushekwi enjoyed a decent stint while still playing for Sundowns, scoring 28 times in 80 appearances for the Brazilians before his eventual departure to Oostende, where he has scored two goals in 12 starts. The Pretoria-based side have already recruited his fellow countrymen – Cuthbert Malajila and Khama Billiat, who have suddenly become talk of town and a return to the side could spell disaster for Mushekwi, who will need time to re-adjust from the European game.
