The elections to choose ZIFA leadership were held last weekend amid reports of chaos and vote buying in some provinces. Wellington Muchemwa and Naison Manyadze polled nine votes each after two rounds.
An official in ZIFA eastern Region confirmed the tie adding that polls for the provincial top post would be held at a date yet to be announced.
The polls saw former owner of FC Victoria Nobert Magwizi being elected vice chairman of the province, while former Zaka West MDC-T legislator Festus Dumbu is the new provincial secretary.
Dumbu is also the sports officer for Triangle limited. Meanwhile former premier league side Masvingo United is facing serious financial problems and might not be participating in the division one eastern region this year if no sponsorship is acquired.
The team, initially bankrolled by local businessman Tanda Tavaruva, has failed to get a sponsor and the Masvingo city council is mooting the idea of taking over the troubled team.
Players are not even aware of their fate since the break last year.
It also emerged that last year players were not being paid their bonuses on time and at one time the team nearly failed to fulfil some of its fixtures because of serious financial problems.
Masvingo mayor Hubert Fidze last year said council was looking seriously into taking over the team. Harare city council is bankrolling Harare City FC.
