He will be sharing the stage with prominent South African diva Winnie Mashaba in South Africa next month.

The Favour hitmaker, who was recently in the news for acquiring his second Mercedes Benz, said he was over the moon at being chosen for the show. He made his first foray out of the country with a show in Mozambique last June.

Mhere said the South African concerts – to be staged in Cape Town on March 1 and 2 –will also be a chance for him to give his legion of fans based in South Africa a live feel of his two albums, Anoita Minana and the latest blockbuster, Nguva Yenyasha.

Mhere heaped praise on Mashaba, whom he described as a humble and down-to-earth artist despite all her success. He added that when the diva made the offer to him on the sidelines of a gospel music concert they jointly held in the Harare Gardens, he felt honoured.

“The fact that she appreciates our music is a clear testimony of how Zimbabwean music is going places and we just want to thank our fans for their overwhelming support,” said Mhere.

Last year, Mhere toured Katandika, Manica and Chimoi provinces in Mozambique, and all the shows were sold-out.
