Responding to a question asked by Zanu (PF) MP for Buhera South, Joseph Chinotimba, Mzembi said: “All potential tourism attractions in Manicaland should have a facelift and generate revenue for the people. “These attractions would include Chiadzwa diamonds, Birchenough Bridge and hot springs.”
Chinotimba had asked the minister what plans his ministry had regarding harvesting revenue at Birchenough Bridge from passing tourists.
According to Mzembi, lodges and chalets would be constructed at Birchenough and there would be proposals to establish a tollgate in the area to widen the revenue base.
He said his ministry and other stakeholders were taking an audit of hot springs in the province, with a view to building facilities. Some legislators said the hot springs would boost tourism given “their medicinal value”.Post published in: News
