Forum to tackle future of agriculture

A comprehensive conference to chart the way forward for the agriculture industry is to be held in Harare next month.

The Zimbabwe Agribusiness Investment Forum has been described as “the most comprehensive agricultural event that provides a rich, high content and unbiased industry-led platform for stakeholders in Zimbabwe’s agribusiness sector”.

Organise by FRMB Investments, this annual forum brings together industry professionals to discuss, explore and deliberate on contemporary issues impacting Zimbabwe and regional agribusiness industry.

The progression from subsistence farming to commercial agribusiness will be discussed on the first day of the conference, while strengthening agriculture finance through capacity building, peer-to-peer learning, and networking on day two will focus more on finance mechanisms for improving Agribusiness, say the organisers.

Particular emphasis will be put on the financing of the modernisation process of agricultural value-chains in Zimbabwe. Lessons will be drawn from successful experiences in the field and neighbouring countries, and from the global emergence of new forms of financing of agribusinesses in emerging markets, including for primary agriculture.
