He said negotiations were at an advanced stage with the yet-to-be-revealed sponsors and the competition would involve all the topflight clubs. Already, the PSL has three knockout tournaments – the Mbada Diamonds Cup, the Banc ABC Sup8 and the NetOne Charity Shield.
The new deal is welcome news for local soccer, following recent renewal of the PSL’s sponsorship deal with Delta Beverages, who will sponsor the league through their Castle Lager brand. The previous PSL-Delta marriage, which lasted three seasons, had initially ended at the end of last season.
