“We will start our season on the weekend of March 15-16 and expect stiff competition that will give us a very exciting season,” said Super League president Leticia Chipandu.
The league recently invited the teams to a preseason tournament, which will be played in Harare this weekend.
“We want the new teams to test the waters of the Super League before the season starts,” said Chipandu, adding that they would use the play-offs to scout for more players for the national teams.
Last season ended with the relegation of City of Harare, ZRP Harare Central, ZRP Bulawayo and Chinhoyi University. The Anoca Under-18 games are set for Botswana in May with the African Championships slated for Botswana in September and the Region V Under-20 Youth Games will held in Bulawayo in December. Zimbabwe Defence Forces won the league title last season, while 2012 champions, Nehanda Nyakasikana, were the runners-up.
