The director of the group, Nkululeko Dube, told The Zimbabwean that the group is performing in Austria for the next six months and is so far “doing very well” and drawing new fans to the shows.

“I am pleased with the performances and the response of fans,” said Dube. “We are really putting our country on the map through our super performances.”

Last year, the group toured Japan, where they recorded their first ever DVD album with Benjamin Kellner. It was well received internationally.

IYASA was established in 2001 to support and promote the interests of young musicians, dancers, actors and poets.

It has since expanded into a resource centre for established and up-and-coming artists, and is composed of talented, committed skilled and highly trained people.

Through workshops, projects, training programmes and performances in and outside the country, IYASA plays an integral role in the development and promotion of talent in music, dance, film, poetry and theatre.

The group is now a household name in Zimbabwe and has become an ambassador for African performing arts locally, regionally and internationally.
