PSL roundup with Brenna Matendere

The return of former South African Premiership forward Roderick Mutuma to Dynamos is expected to usher in exciting moments in the PSL this weekend. Mutuma last week signed a one-year deal with the Glamour Boys as a free agent, after Bloemfontein Celtic terminated his contract.

According to Dynamos secretary, Webster Chikengezha, the striker could have received his international clearance to feature in blue and white boys’ clash with Harare City this weekend.

When Mutuma left for Celtic last year, he had finished the previous season as the Golden Boot Winner, a feat that should make his possible start in the game against City very sensational.

The ginger-haired striker has already started training with DeMbare – joining industrious midfielder Tafadzwa Rusike and defender Oscar Machapa, who have also played in the South African league.

On the other hand, Highlanders this weekend welcome Hwange to Barbourfields Stadium in a game that will see the winner jump to the apex of the log.

The two are tied on seven points and are yet to be beaten. The Nation Dube-coached Hwange will be hoping to rediscover a winning formula, after they shared spoils with Triangle in their home fixture last weekend.

Bosso are coming from a 3-0 victory away to Chiredzi and will definitely be geared-up to impress their fans, who had become impatient with the team’s poor performance in the build-up to the season, where they went four matches without a win.

At Mandava Stadium, FC Platinum host Caps United, while Buffaloes – coming from a goalless draw against Caps, will be expecting to thump ZPC Kariba in Mutare. Elsewhere, Triangle host Chicken Inn, while Bantu Rovers and Chapungu face-off at Luveve Stadium.

In Kadoma, Black Rhinos – coming from a shock 2-0 defeat at the hands of Shabani, will do battle against Chiredzi FC. The Chinda Boys themselves travel to Bulawayo to meet Philani Ncube’s How Mine, who have managed just a single point in three matches.
