Brian Samaita seems to be a hit when it comes to falling out with fellow musicians.

Samaita made his name after a series of sold-out shows for his late friend and sungura ace Tongai ‘Dhewa’ Moyo.

After the death of Dhewa, Samaita took a back seat in music promotion. He then decided to take the bull by the horns and make a bid for major stage shows.

He recorded his debut album, Nemiwo Munazvo, in 2012 followed by his latest offering, Murodzi Wepfungwa. Both projects failed to have much commercial success.

Samaita first made the headlines for the wrong reasons when he claimed that he composed songs for Dhewa – a claim that was widely denounced by Dhewa’s son, Peter.

Not pleased by the response, Samaita allegedly hatched a plan to disband the Young Igwe’s band.

Recently, Samaita made unsubstantiated claims that Jacob Moyana of Munotidako fame stole his song.

Questions have been raised about why Samaita only made the claims when Moyana’s song gained popularity in the mainstream music scene.
