According to a statement the Whatsapp number +263782475000 will be on a 24 hour monitoring to allow for immediate attention for any issues sent through.
Youth Forum encourages its members, stakeholders to use the facility to report any incidents of police corruption or brutality they may see to the same number and if possible photographs of incidents sent through will do better.
“We call upon all Zimbabweans from all over the country and or abroad to use the facility to send through any alerts to the police on issues regarding criminal activities that they may witness happening.
“Though we commend the initiative we call upon the police to treat every tip off seriously and act on all issues with the seriousness it deserves. It is common knowledge in our society that members of the police especially in the police traffic section are involved in corrupt activities and we hope this initiative will go a long way in curbing the rot,” says the Forum.
The police have asked members of the public not to use the number for wild calls or false alarms as they will disturb the activity and efficiency of the initiative and police.
