Mpumalanga Black Aces are keen to hold on to striker Tendai Ndoro, who has reportedly attracted the interest of the Absa Premiership’s so-called big clubs.

The Zimbabwe international had a successful spell with Aces and finished among the contenders for the Golden Boot Award, despite playing only the second half of the season. His seven goals, three short of eventual winner Bernard Parker, not only helped his side qualify for the MTN 8 but fuelled speculation of a big-money move in the off-season.

In addition to speculation that Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns could be possible destinations, Ndoro has also been linked to Barclays Premiership side, Crystal Palace. Aces spokesperson, Gordon Masondo, insisted the former Zimbabwe Golden Boot winner would stay put. “As far as we know, Ndoro is an Aces player and will remain thus,” he said. “He is not going anywhere. We have not heard of any interest in the player and would thus treat such reports as mere speculation. Ndoro has a contract with us and he will fulfil it.”

Ndoro penned a two-year contract at the beginning of the past season but due to the delay in the issuance of his International Transfer Clearance, he could not be registered with the PSL. He was subsequently loaned back to Chicken Inn to keep fit.

He eventually finish as top goal scorer in the Castle Lager PSL with 18 league goals last season.
