Billiat waiting for Kuda’s combination

Mamelodi Sundowns winger Khama Billiat believes Warriors teammate, Kudakwashe Mahachi, will make a great impact at the Absa Premiership champions. Mahachi, who had a great outing in the African Nations Championships earlier in the year, is set to leave his loan base at Highlanders for his new paymasters in the next few weeks.

Billiat, who has set the Absa PSL alight with his great play, says he is looking forward to a great combination with the Sundowns newcomer, whom he believes possessed the same skills and plays similar football to his.

He said the two could still be used together to help the side achieve great results, despite playing an identical game of tearing down the left wing. But he was scared his position could be under threat from his countryman.

Sundowns will be playing in the Caf Champions League next season and the addition of Mahachi in their ranks is set to boost their personnel reserves and take the pressure off Billiat, who spent some time on the side lines due to an injury last season.

“I can’t wait to play alongside Kuda, who is young and a quality player. He will teach us one or two things at the same time also learning from us,” said Billiat.

“He is a great player who will give most defenders a hard time whenever he plays and that will make us a stronger side than we were last season. I have seen him play a number of times and he is a player destined for greater heights. He will help us a lot as we will be having a tough schedule next season, with many games as we try to defend the league, play some cup games and in the Caf Champions League.”
