Police probe rapping patrol car

Police in Essex are investigating after a patrol car was filmed blasting out the 1993 rap hit Sound of Da Police.

The police car was caught on camera in Chelmsford town centre playing the KRS-One classic. Video footage posted on YouTube shows the car driving slowly through the town blasting out the track which features the rapper whooping like a police siren.

Essex police say they are “looking into the matter”. The video has been viewed more than 200,000 times.

Sound of Da Police was the final single from KRS-One’s frst solo album, Return of the Boom Bap.
