Listen to the pain

Dear Aunty Lisa

I just got my tooth filled by a dentist but it is slowly becoming painful. I don’t know whether it is just something that happens after the treatment and ends soon. Could it be a bad sign? – Toothfairy

Dear Toothfairy

You need to visit your dentist because a tooth that has been filled should not later become painful. Any pain is an indication that something may have gone wrong. Your dentist may have not realised that your tooth may have broken beyond filling and needed to be removed. If the crack in the tooth had gone down to its heart then filling was not an option. It had to be removed. But this is just a possibility, you need your dentist to examine and explain what is going on with you. – Aunty Lisa
