The Premiership returnees were apparently impressed by the former Young Warriors duo’s brilliant performance for National First Division side Witbank Spurs last season.
The Zimbabweans spent much of their football career in South Africa’s National First Division, where they failed to take Spurs to the topflight league. Their individual ambitions however, got a boost when they signed two-year contracts that will keep them in the newly-promoted side until 2016.
They also qualify for permanent residence permits, which will assure them a stay at the club as non-foreign players.
“We are very excited about the new deal that we were given by Chippa United. It’s a dream come true playing in the PSL. We want to grab this opportunity with both hands and help United stay in the elite league,” said Patrick in a recent interview.
“It was always our dream to play in the top league and this opportunity came at the right time. At the moment we are just enjoying our pre-season training and hope to get our permits in time so we can start playing official games in the top flight football.”
The former young Warriors duo will join another national team star defender, Erick Chipeta, signed after he impressed during the CHAN tournament that took place in January.Post published in: Football
